 " Madol Duwa " A Classic Sri Lankan Novel "Madol Duwa" is a classic Sri Lankan novel by Martin Wickramasinghe, which tells the story of a young boy named Upali, who lives in a remote island called Madol Duwa. Upali is an adventurous boy who is always getting into trouble. His parents are poor and struggle to provide for him, so he spends most of his time roaming the island and getting into mischief with his best friend, Jinna. One day, Upali and Jinna find an abandoned boat and decide to fix it up and use it to explore the surrounding islands. They soon discover a small uninhabited island, which they claim as their own and name it "Handa Duwa". As they spend more time on Handa Duwa, Upali and Jinna learn to be self-sufficient and rely on their own ingenuity to survive. They build a shelter, catch fish and grow their own food.
